At Ballet des Amériques, students have the opportunity to perform several times a year in a professional production environment. Great care is taken to ensure that rehearsals do not cut into class time. Rather, rehearsals and performances are part of the curriculum of study, opportunities to grow and learn.
It is recognized that students are not - and should not pretend to be - professional dancers and that therefore their roles in performances must be appropriate to their level. This is the reason why all our performances involve original choreography by director and choreographer Carole Alexis, specifically created for our students.
Performances are programmed in theaters such as the Emelin Theatre in Mamaroneck, the Tarrytown Music Hall and our own White Box studio theater. There are usually three productions per year, each of which may involve multiple performances.
